Three players from the McAlester Team Extreme 14's volleyball team have been honored with a special selection. Paige Bennett, Amelia Judge and Erika Miller were among the 24 girls chosen to participate in the High Performance camp of the USAV junior high division. The camp is set for June 2-4 on the campus of Tulsa University. The girls are in the 15-and-under age group.
The program is organized in conjunction with USAV for the purpose of providing youth and junior players opportunities to participate at a high level of play and be identified by the USA national organization. The Oklahoma Volleyball Association is hosting a summer camp of 24 selected elite volleyball players per age division. From the camp, 12 athletes per age group will be selected to represent the region at the USA Volley Classic HP Tournament July 23-26. Also, one athlete per age group will be selected to participate in the national high performance developmental camp.
Bennett, Judge and Miller, along with Megan Billos, Kaylin Wright, Sarah Beale, Elizabeth Auld, Brittany Condit, Kayla James and Ashley Fassino, placed fourth in the OKVA Regional Tournament this past winter. The team is coached by Debbie Miller, and also had two first place finishes and one second.
